Tourism Minister Lisa MacLeod has pledged $12.81 million to keep the Niagara Parks Commission operational during COVID-19.
The money will be used towards protecting jobs, keeping attractions open, and ensuring visitor safety during the pandemic.
MacLeod spoke highly of the Commission, and stated the importance of assisting Ontario's tourist attractions at this time.
"This has been an incredibly challenging time for our agencies, who have all taken immediate action to reduce costs where possible and help keep visitors safe. Our government is proud to support the Niagara Parks Commission, one of the most spectacular tourist areas that Ontario has to offer."
She also says that since international and local travel are currently uncertain, keeping the Commission open will help contribute to economic growth in the area.
