Chair of the Transit Commission Mat Siscoe says there'll be no reduction in service
Concerns about Niagara Transit service brought to the Niagara region.
Local resident Sandy Richards-Haines is visually impaired, and said there are security concerns in certain areas, but she's also hoping for service expansion.
Chair of the Niagara Transit Commission Mat Siscoe explained plans are in the works. "We have been dealing with requests for service expansions, kind of on an ad hoc basis. Our staff have been working with the folks in Thorold, we're coming forward with a new policy to address those requests. That policy is coming in the first month or two of the new year."
She also says inter-city service can't start soon enough.
But, she is also focused on safety concerns. "It's not feeling like somewhere you want to go to have to catch a bus, because there's a lot going on. And taking certain buses out of there, the 3-10, for example."
The Chair told her measures are being taken to address safety, and there will be no service reductions.
