Former St. Catharines art gallery to become a 13 room boutique hotel.
St. Catharines will soon get a boutique hotel at the site of the former Rodman Hall.
City council has approved an amendment to the zoning bylaw, to allow the former art gallery to be converted into a hotel that will have special events spaces.
No major alterations are being planned, and the proposal doesn't include any additions.
The hotel rooms will be held in the original structed, which was constructed between 1857 and 1863.
The banquet hall will be housed in an addition constructed in 1960 and 1975.
The project is expected to be complete in spring.
