Provincial government investigating collision that happened on Highway 58A in Welland on Friday night
The driver of a motorcycle has been hurt after colliding with a police car in Welland.
The NRP say it happened Friday night, at around 9:30, on Highway 58A and Reaker Road.
The rider of the bike was sent to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries, while the police officer was not hurt.
Police had both lanes of the highway closed between Rusholme and Netherby Roads, and Reaker Road between Highway 58A and Netherby Road.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is looking into this since a police officer was involved in a situation in which a member of the public was hurt. Due to that, the NRP is not able to say anything further.
