Fifty-six year old man's jaw broken during course of November arrest.
Two Niagara Regional Police Service officers will not be charged after a man's jaw was broken during an arrest.
In November, police tried to arrest the man for making threats.
He ran away from officers onto the Highway 420 on-ramp near Victoria Avenue as police demanded he stop.
The man brandished a metal cane in the officers' direction, and both officers discharged conducted energy weapons at the man.
The suspect was punched by one of the officers when he continued to resist arrest.
He was handcuffed and taken to hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fractured right jaw.
SIU Director Joseph Martino says there isn't enough evidence to show the officers used excessive force.
