CBSA reporting a 57 percent increase in seizures of drugs and weapons at border crossings in southern Ontario
The CBSA is reporting a jump in the number of guns and drugs seized at border crossings in southern Ontario.
According to the Southern Ontario Region of Canada Border Services Agency, 870.43 kg of narcotics and 208 firearms were found between January 1st and October 31st of this year.
This is 57 percent higher than in 2021.
The agency also nabbed 116 people wanted for outstanding warrants, arrested 105 people for impaired driving and returned three missing children to their families.
The Southern Ontario region includes border crossings in Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, Windsor, London and Sarnia.
