St. Catharines Man Charged with Aggravated Assault

A 61-year-old man had to be taken to hospital with a serious injury after an assault in St. Catharines.

Police say he was struck with a weapon in the James Street and St. Paul Street area at around 10:00 a.m. yesterday morning.

He had to be taken to hospital with a serious injury.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault.

Anyone who witnessed this incident should contact Niagara Regional Police by calling 905-688-4111 with extension 9412.

Local businesses are also being asked to check their surveillance cameras to see if they caught the incident on video.
