St. Catharines to Close Beaches to Non-Niagara Residents

You will not be able to visit one of the beaches in St. Catharines if you don't live in the area.

City Council has passed a bylaw to close the beaches to those who don't live in Niagara in an attempt to prevent large crowds and illegal parking in those areas.

There will be security on site to enforce the new rule and anyone over 18 will have to show some ID when they arrive.

St. Catharines is not the only Niagara municipality to close a beach to out-of-town visitors.

Bay Beach in Fort Erie is only open to those who carry a resident season pass.
