Storm Causes Hundreds of Power Outages in Niagara

Significant number of homes without power

Some major power outages being reported due to the storm.

Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc., is reporting hundreds of power outages affecting homes in Lincoln, West Lincoln and Niagara Falls.

Meanwhile, Canadian Niagara Power is reporting an outage in Fort Erie, and Hydro One says there are two outages in Pelham, affecting 160 homes.

There is no word yet on when the power will come back.

Welland Hydro is reporting an outage impacting about 250 customers bounded by Broadway, Santone Avenue, St. George Street and Roach Avenue.

Crews are working to repaid a faulted wire, and the power is expected to be back around 12:30 p.m.
