We now have three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Niagara.
The latest is a 47-year-old man who recently traveled to Europe.
He is now at home in self isolation.
Region officials say he only interacted with his family while he was contagious and he has not exposed anyone in the community.
Our second confirmed case of coronavirus was announced yesterday.
It was a 55-year-old woman who recently returned from Egypt. She is also at home in self-isolation.
Niagara's first case of COVID-19 was announced on Friday.
It was an 84-year-old man and he's currently being treated in isolation at the St. Catharines hospital.
Dr. Mustafa Hirji, the Region's Acting Chief Medical Officer of Health, is expecting to see more travel-related cases of COVID-19 in Niagara, due to the growing number of cases around the world.
He says you should be cautious.
"We are not seeing any local circulation of the virus, and so our risk remains low. Everyone should feel comfortable continuing with their daily activities, but taking reasonable measures to reduce their risk with hand hygiene and social distancing."
