UPDATE: Ontario's new animal welfare inspection squad is now investigating.
The Ministry of Solicitor General says a member of the public filed a complaint to Animal Welfare Services.
Marineland says it will comply with the investigation.
It looks like a Marineland employee will get to keep her job, after posting about her experience with three baby bears on Facebook.
She wrote that she rescued the babies from the bear enclosure, because she was worried that the male bears would eat them.
The post has since been removed.
In a statement to the Niagara Falls Review, Marineland says there was no physical threat to the babies, adding they were removed over a concern that the mothers would be unable to care for them and keep them safe.
It says six employees were on-site while the cubs were being removed from the enclosure.
The park says the babies are being cared for at an on-site veterinary care centre, and they have gained weight.
It adds the Marineland employee will remain a member of their team moving forward, adding this is a teachable moment for all employees.
