CAA study finds costs to drivers is in the billions
The weather this week is a case in point.
A new study by the CAA says the country's bad roads are costing us billions a year in higher vehicle operating costs and part of the problem is our weather.
The agency says one day its sunny and mild, the next day snowy and cold, which ends up creating potholed roads.
The study has found those bad roads cost each vehicle owner an extra $126 a year, in bent rims, blown out tires or undercarriage damage, which adds up to around $3 billion.
Voting for the CAA's annual Worst Roads Campaign wrapped up over the weekend.
