Elections Canada Says 100,000 Mail-in Ballots Not Counted in Federal Election

Elections Canada says most of the nearly 100,000 mail-in ballots not counted in federal election were received late.

Elections Canada says nearly 100,000 mail-in ballots cast in September's federal election were not counted.

According to a report released by the agency today, 99,988 mail-in ballots were not counted, the majority of which were received after the legal deadline.

This includes ballots sent in by Armed Forces members, Canadian expats living overseas, and people living in Canada but away from their homes.

Elections Canada says there was an 82 percent jump in the number of mail-in ballots in last year's election, compared to the 2019 election.
