Lowest Voter Turnout in Ontario History

Only 4.6 million cast a ballot in yesterday's Provincial Election

While Doug Ford's PC Party may have won a sweeping victory last night a large majority of Ontarians didn't bother voting.

Ontario recorded the lowest voter turnout in history last night, with just 43.5 per cent of eligible voters casting a ballot.

The preliminary figures from Elections Ontario indicate that of the just over 10.7 million registered voters in the province, only 4.6 million exercised their right to vote.

That's about 13.5 percentage points lower than the 2018 provincial election turnout.
