Schreiner was approached to replace Liberal leader Steven Del Duca
Mike Schreiner says he will stay on as the leader of Ontario's Green party.
This comes after a group of Liberals approached Schreiner to run for leadership of their party.
Last year, Steven Del Duca stepped down as the province's Liberal leader, and a replacement has not been selected yet.
Schreiner he came to his decision after speaking with Ontarians and his constituents in Guelph.
"I’ve asked myself and others how I can best make a positive difference in building the Ontario we truly want," he said.
"The answer for me is as the leader of the Ontario Green Party."
Schreiner says he's committed to working with other parties to put residents, the planet and the province first.
Several Liberal have publicly stated they're considering running for the party's leadership, including MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, MP Yasir Naqvi and Liberal caucus member Ted Hsu.
