Niagara Parks Police attempted to help a man before he disappeared over Horseshoe Falls
Niagara Parks Police have been cleared of doing anything wrong by Ontario's Special Investigations unit after the disappearance of a man at the Horseshoe Falls.
It was back on April 15th, when they were called in the evening about a man on the water side of the retaining wall.
The SIU says the man ignored requests by an officer to safety, a civilian tried to unsuccessfully to reach the man, and then they watched as the man sat on a rock platform and slide into the water, and over the falls.
The man is presumed dead, his body not found, nor his identity known.
Since the man had a brief interaction with an officer, the SIU looked into this, and determined the officer did nothing wrong.
