UPDATE: NRP Investigating Damage to Parked Cars in Niagara

Police investigating over 30 incidents of damage to parked vehicles.

Niagara Regional Police are investigating several damage/mischief incidents throughout Niagara involving parked cars. 

Officers say 16 incidents occurred in Lincoln in the early morning hours of June 28th. 

Earlier today, police opened 18 more damage investigations, including four in St. Catharines, four in Thorold, six in Niagara Falls, one in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and three in Pelham. 

These incidents are believed to have occurred in the early morning hours of June 30th. 

In most of the occurrences, a suspect drove up to an address, and threw large stones at vehicles parked on the street or in the driveway. 

The incidents occurred in the following areas: 

June 30th

  • St. Catharines - Martindale Road, Seventh Street, Chartwell Court
  • Thorold - Juneberry Road, Keefer Road, Hawthorn Avenue, Kenny Court
  • Niagara Falls - Northwood Drive, Oakridge Drive, Cardinal Drive
  • Niagara on the Lake - Four Mile Creek Road
  • Pelham - Buckley Trail, Lookout Street, Timmsdale Crescent

June 28th

  • North Service Road near 15th Street (five incidents)
  • Westwood Trace near Vinehaven Trail (two incidents)
  • Dustan Street near Edgewood Crescent (two incidents)
  • Magnolia Drive near King Street (two incidents)
  • Magnolia Drive near Azalea Crescent (five incidents)
  • South Shore Boulevard near Dustan Street (one incident)
  • Lake Street near Bal Harbour Drive (one incident)

Information from the June 28th investigation described the suspect as: 

  • White male
  • Approximately 6 feet tall, thin
  • Shirtless
  • Dark pants
  • Dark baseball hat
  • Blue medical mask

The suspect is believed to be driving a dark-coloured car, similar to a Honda Civic.

Anyone in the area with CCTV footage, doorbell video cameras or dash cams are asked to check their footage for suspicious activity for the period when the offences are believed to have occurred. 

Some of the stones used are similar to garden and/or driveway stones. 

Total damage is estimated at over $40,000.
