Victim hired a contractor off Facebook Marketplace
A 65 year old St. Catharines man has been charged with fraud following an incident in Niagara Falls.
In May, Niagara Regional Police began an investigation after a Niagara Falls resident hired a contractor to renovate their kitchen off Facebook Marketplace.
The victim hired a contractor under the business name Beaverdam Dezigns to do some renovations in their kitchen.
The victim transferred funds to the suspect who advised it was being used to buy materials however the renovation was never completed.
As a result of the investigation, detectives determined the suspect had no intention of completing the renovation.
Randolf Luken has been arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000 and failure to comply with an undertaking.
He was being held in custody for a bail hearing.
