Supreme Court of Canada pointing to invasion of his privacy
A battle that's taken years by the families of Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy to have prison and parole documents concerning killer Paul Bernardo released has ended.
Canada's Supreme Court has decided it will not hear arguments to expose confidential information used to decide his prospects for parole.
Bernardo was convicted for the murders of 15-year-old Kristen French and 14-year-old Leslie Mahaffy, in the early 1990s near St. Catharines, as well as manslaughter of 15-year old Tammy Holmolka
The federal information commissioner, the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal all said the rejection was based on a total invasion of the killer's privacy.
